Selectmen approve parking ordinances, building committee term limits

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of February 26, 2026

Greenwich Selectmen approve two parking ordinances, reject an extra flag raising. The Board of Selectmen, meeting Feb. 26 with First Selectman Fred Camillo, Selectwoman Lauren Rabin and Selectwoman Rachel Khanna, voted 3-0 to add two-hour parking on Lochland Avenue and to let Parking Services ticket non-electric vehicles in Town Hall's EV charging spots. Deputy Chief James Bonney said "the lesson is you can't please everyone" after Byram residents complained about snow-emergency enforcement during a weekend blizzard.

The board also approved, 3-0, one-year term limits for town building committee officers, and closed a public hearing on a noise variance for Burning Tree Country Club. A motion to raise a flag for Gen. Israel Putnam's ride died for lack of a second.

Khanna urged residents to oppose a state bill she called "a really bad bill" and a plan to regionalize GCTV Channel 79 before the Feb. 27 comment deadline.
