Selectmen adopt Safe Streets Greenwich safety action plan unanimously
Board of Selectmen · Meeting of May 14, 2026
Greenwich selectmen unanimously adopt a Safe Streets Greenwich Safety Action Plan targeting zero traffic deaths by 2040. First Selectman Fred Camillo and Selectwomen Lauren Rabin and Rachel Khanna approved the plan on a second read after DPW Civil Engineer Michael Kiselak said no public feedback had come in over two weeks, calling the plan a toolkit for "safer roads." The board held first reads on three road-closure requests: a Division Street residential parking permit sought by Deputy Chief of Police James Bonney, an overnight Glenville Road closure from June 21-25 presented by DPW's Ian Brown, and a summer closure of Indian Rock Lane and Stanwich Road for Central Middle School utility work, presented by Building Committee Chair Joe Rossetti and Turner Construction. The board also waived a second read to approve 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Act proposals and confirmed nine board and commission appointments.
Khanna reported Greenwich's proposed mill rate of 10.12 is the state's lowest.
